This module is an example of a custom solution our technical team designed – it is part of an alert system installed to combat an Australian farmers sheep poaching concerns. The module repeats signals from a detection beam to the farmers house and turns on a powerful warning light at night. Powered from a large solar panel and 17Ah battery.

On large industrial sites where machinery operators and management are not always able to see when visitors arrive, a wireless beam can be installed on the main entrance to detect when a visitor arrives and the alerts from this beam can then be forwarded via ‘walkie talkie’ style hand-sets to all staff. This repeater was designed to ensure these alert notifications would be reliably sent to operators working behind hills and in places where the signal would otherwise be marginal. It required an 80W solar panel to ensure the system would always work even through months of the worst NZ weather conditions.

This module is part of an an anti-poaching solution installed on a large property in Reporoa NZ. The systems were installed to sense illicit night-time vehicle activity on several remote tracks. A buried magnetic probe connects to each module and when a vehicle is detected, an SMS (text message) is immediately sent to the landowners phone. The system is solar powered with battery backup and is timed to only operate during certain high-risk times so that normal day-time vehicle activity is ignored.

This customized alarm was designed for an industrial yard in Blenheim. The customer will install the 4-beam-sets and the 3G alarm box himself. A timer automatically enables the system after hours and disables it in the early morning. If an intruder is detected, an outdoor red/ blue ‘Police strobe light’ flashes for a couple of minutes and a SMS txt is sent to the owner telling him which beam-set was violated.

We have made a few of these over the years. if the vehicle is too high to enter a height-restricted area such as a drive-through or tunnel, a beam is activated which sends a radio signal to a strobe / horn box located directly in the drivers field of vision so the driver is immediately alerted to the danger. Often structures like power lines are ‘taken out’ by trucks leaving a yard that still have their ‘arm’ raised. With health and safety presently on top of mind awareness, this type of system can save lives and serious damage to vehicles, buildings and infrastructure.
