Parabeam® has solutions to allow monitoring gates, entranceways or remote tracks that are some distance away from your home.

Our ‘extended’ model increases the useable range to well over 2km depending on obstacles.  For more challenging sites, a signal repeater is available.  This may be combined with gain antennas to further boost range.

For very remote sites we can supply a solar powered GSM communicator that allows alert signals from a beam-set or magnetic probe detector to be communicated via text message.  In New Zealand this solution requires Vodafone GSM coverage.  For Australia, the system works on Vodafone, Opus and Telstra GSM networks (not 3G)

Other solutions are possible if none of these services are available such as a ‘Spot’ satellite communicator.

In the case of very remote sites, some customers prefer to utilize two beam-sets as extra verification that someone is travelling along the track before heading off to investigate.  Receiving a text message from Beam # 1 followed by Beam #2 says that a vehicle or person is very likely to be travelling in a particular direction along the track.

*Parabeam® Extended includes a directional antenna which increases the wireless radio range by allowing an elevated communication path, clearing smaller trees and bushes.  The antenna is typically mounted on the roof of a building, but may also be located at the beam-set end at a height above that of the offending greenery.  The latter option should ideally be decided upon at the time of ordering because it can’t be added to a standard beam communicator afterwards – it would require swapping out the beam communicator for one that has a special antenna adaptor on it.  See the gallery for an image of an antenna that has been installed at the beam-set end.
